Clarksburg State Park
Clarksburg, MA
Fishing | Canoe/Kayak/SUP | Beach
Clarksburg State Park Beach is a family-friendly swimming area perfect for a hot summer day in the Berkshires. The park features a small beach next to the pond, where swimmers can play in the sand or float in the shallow water. Visitors to the park will immediately find an expansive lawn with tall, sprawling pine trees. On sunny days, these trees offer plentiful shade for a break from the sun. Picnic tables rest idly underneath the trees, providing a picturesque place for a lunchtime meal with the family. There is also a pavilion and firepit for larger gatherings, by reservation and fee. Visitors can eat together and watch the pond reflect scenic views of the Berkshires beyond.
The parking lot also leads to numerous hiking trails in the state park. An easy hike leaves from the beach and takes visitors along the water. Local Western Massachusetts wildlife, including amphibians and waterfowl species, thrive in this ecosystem. On weekends, the pond also becomes a popular spot for fishing, boating, canoeing, and kayaking.
There is a large parking area at the end of the road. Next to the lot, visitors can find facilities, including bathrooms and changing rooms. The State Park charges a parking fee from May to October.
